Wemagination Resource Center works on a membership basis, and members to the WE have access to all of the materials that have been generously donated.
There are two types of memberships available for both educators and families of children in their early childhood years (birth to eight):
Provides the member access to eight cubic feet of materials, to be used over time or all at once ($25).
Provides the member access to 24 cubic feet of materials, to be used all at once or over time ($50).
Memberships for artists and community members not involved in early childhood education:
Provides the member access to 16 cubic feet of materials, to be used all at once or over time ($100).
Memberships can be purchased by individuals or by schools and/or organizations. The WE cannot accept cash. Payments must be in the form of money order, purchase order or checks made out to UNM Family Development Program.
A two hour training experience on the use of open-ended materials to promote play-based learning in children. Play Orientations are typically held at the Wemagination Resource Center. We require a minimum of 10 attendees, and kindly request adults only. The purchase of a WE membership is strongly recommended, and shopping time will be allowed after the Play Orientation.
If you would like more information on a Play Orientation, please contact Andrew Castellano at 505-277-5800 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Watch Me Play, Watch Me Learn
The Watch Me Play, Watch Me Learn Series promotes the essential role of play in children’s lifelong love of learning. Generously supported by the Brindle Foundation, the book tells the story from the point of view of what children naturally do when they are given fun materials or taken outdoors to explore. The books are published in English and Spanish.
